Vikas Anand

Vikas Anand received his Ph.D. in Business Strategy from Arizona State University, and an MBA in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. He also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a Master's Degree in Physics. Prior to receiving his PhD, he worked in the international divisions of ITC (subsidiary of British American Tobacco) and Eicher (Joint venture with Mitsubishi). His responsibilities included taking care of international operations for export and import of paper and paper products, marketing and strategic planning of paper products and setting up distribution centers and cooperative alliances for auto parts in international markets. His work involved frequent travel to multiple parts of Africa, Middle East, and South and South East Asia.

His major areas of research include corruption and ethics in organizations, crisis management, organizational identity and identification, and knowledge and information management in organizations. He has published and presented his work in several top research and practitioner outlets such as the Academy of Management Review, Research in Organizational Behavior, Organization Science, Academy of Management Executive and so on. His research has received several awards and one of his papers on ethics and corruption was felicitated as one of the 10 most influential papers published in the Academy of Management Executive's 20 year history. Dr. Anand teaches strategic management at the Undergraduate, Masters (MBA) and PhD levels. He also teaches classes relating to globalization and has been invited to deliver special talks in many parts of the world. He has received several awards including the University of Arkansas Alumni Association Award for Excellence in Teaching (2008), the Teaching Academy award for teaching excellence (2009), the U of A Associated Student Government award for excellence in Teaching (2011), Walton College of Business Award for Service Excellence in 2011, and the Walton College Best All Around Faculty Award for 2012. He has served in multiple administrative roles that include PhD coordinator, Director of MBA programs, Executive Director of the Walton Career Center, Executive Director of the Strategic Planning for the Walton College, and as the Department Chair of Management. He currently serves as the Executive Director of MBA Programs and Graduate Innovation at the Walton College. .
